Premiere & Preorder: "Santal" from ML Wah's Debut LP Deep Roots

Dear friends,

Today we are excited to premiere “Santal”, the first single from ML Wah’s forthcoming debut LP Deep Roots. A track (like the album itself) built from layered multi-instrumental improvisations, the sound of “Santal” finds inspiration in the boundaryless music of cosmic-within ensembles such as the Organic Music Society and Sons & Daughters of Negus, as well as the sacred psychedelia of The Habibiyya and Japan’s People.

“Santal” is available now to stream & download at our Bandcamp, where you can also pre-order the album in any format desired. Your copy of the Art Edition LP (with bonus cassette), standard vinyl, CD, cassette, or digital version can be reserved as of today, with an official release date of May 24th (vinyl editions may not ship until June).

We are also offering a couple bundle deals with this release: add Matt’s The Center and The Fringe LP to your preorder of the Deep Roots vinyl, or add the forthcoming CD reissue of out-of-print ML Wah cassette The Divine Interval to the CD version of Deep Roots for a nice price on both!

We hope you love this introduction to the soundworld of ML Wah’s long-in-the-making vinyl debut! And for a fuller vision of Deep Roots, visit the archives of the Avant Ghetto radio program on WFMU, which premiered the album’s closing track “Head Home” on this past Sunday-night-into-Monday-morning’s broadcast.

With love & appreciation,

Matt & Ash
